UX/UI Methodologies

• Interaction design (user flow, wireframes)
• UI design (mood board, logo design, style guide)
• Implementation including prototyping and usability testing
MedDerm is a private practice in San Diego, CA. They provide a comprehensive range of dermatology services including medical and surgical treatments as well as cosmetic treatments. Their current website is not reflective of their brand or values and they are looking for a new modern, up-to-date refresh that is informative and attracts new patients to their clinic.

Project goals

1. Conduct competitive and user research to inform decision for a website redesign
2. Redesign MedDerm’s website which includes the landing page, about page, services, appointment request page, and contact page with a focus on responsive design
3. Rebrand their logo and color palette to reflect a modern and up-to-date look

Meeting with the stakeholders

I worked closely with the CEP and one of their dermatologists to discover desires and goals

Competitive analysis

I researched several other dermatology clinics both locally and nationally to discover design patterns and also potential areas for improvement. I also incorporated more general medical websites in my research to help inform my designs.

User interiews

I interviewed three participants ages 23-31 to identify what information is helpful to them when looking for a dermatologist that fits their needs.
Interview findings

Feature Roadmap

Based on my findings from the stakeholder and user interview as well as my competitive research, a list of feature prioritizations was created.

Site map and task flow

After researching the information architecture of competitors, I created a site map to organize the design of my website and a task/user flow was created to illustrate steps for filling out an appointment request form

Wireframing

Sketches and low-fidelity wireframes were created guided by the wants/needs of the user and stakeholder goals.

Branding

A new brand identity including a new logo was created to reflect their values and desired characteristics including a modern aesthetic, personable, and caring feel.

Final prototype

The final product was handed over to the clients who were extremely happy with the results! You can view the prototype below.
